The challenge for the client was to provide infill housing in a historically sensitive neighborhood. Aside from blending in the new three story residential units within the existing historical context, the goal was to establish historical detailing from a model example selected in a nearby neighborhood. Details of note are the cornice, subdividing a potentially massive facade with a downspout system and incorporating basement windows within the structural floor plane.
